THE TOUR
The experience takes 1-2 hours, depending on the group size and activity level, and goes something like this:
-
We welcome you at the Zipline Akureyri base (see map below) where we help you put on the safety gear.
-
Then we walk 2-3 min. to the first zipline.
-
The first guide zips ahead and receives one guest at a time. The second guide assists and secures guests to zip.
-
In a group we follow a short forest path to the next zipline, and so on for 5 ziplines.
-
At the end of the fifth and last zipline we hike approx. 10 min. back to base.
Open every day in summer!
All safety gear included!
Meeting point: see map below.
Physical restrictions
Maximum weight is 120 kg (260 lbs), for safety reasons. You must also be able to hike uneven paths for up to 10 min. at a time.
Children
Children must be at least 8 years old and accompanied by an adult.
Shoes
We strongly advise waterproof trail shoes with a good grip and tight hold on your foot. Because we walk on nature paths in all sorts of conditions.
Clothing
There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing! Dress according to the day and you’ll be just dandy zipping in any kind of weather.
Long hair
To protect your flowing locks, and your life, we ask you to braid your hair or tie it in a low bun to snugly fit under the security helmet.
Weather warning
We don’t let the weather stop us easily! But on occasion we might have to. In this case we offer you a re-schedule or a refund.
Arrive on time please
Please arrive promptly at the time of your booked slot. We respect time as a limited resource and make an effort to keep to schedule.
Running late?
Please be on time. The tour starts promptly and there is no refund for late arrivals or no-shows.
